Thursday. Off for my weekly visit to Libby. Think I’ll get some grub at old Blew’s.

I can only guess that he is spending the night up in the hills there somewhere.

The last thing Tad said: ‘Burn the fuel that the fire wants before the fire gets there. Then there’s no fuel left.’

He was limping some. He might have taken a round to his leg. That’s all I could tell.

Hell that was a bad bad thing that happened there today. So needless.

Tad’s gone. Charlie got here a bit ago. Gettin me patched up.

Have patched up Redeye. Limping a bit myself. Gonna sit this night out. Reckon the law will be here soon.

Fewkes’ men? I don’t know. This is almost too much.
